I MET AN AUTHOR!!!

On Wednesday, October 31st. We had a guest speaker named Erik Hanberg for my class, TINST207, he is good friends with my college professor. He was a pretty interesting guy. He did all sorts of things in his life. He was extremely interested in technologies and the web. I took away a lot from his presentation.
I found out that the 50 percent of households in America actually has Amazon Prime. I did not think it would be that much, probably because of my inexperience with online shopping has something to do with that. I also found out that he released books himself, not physical books, but ebooks, and that is probably because he is very experienced with the web. He published many books, dating not too far back from 2010 with one of his first books; The Saints Go Dying In, and also just recently released one in 2018 titled; The Tin Whistle, which I believe from what I remember, is part of a book series he created.
His experience was not just restricted within ebooks and the web. He also had podcasts, and multiple podcasts channels. Those podcast channels are not just hosted by him alone, he has friends that actually host it with. One of the podcasts is actually about the city of Tacoma, which is channel 253, so if anyone is interested go check it out. But anyways, his whole life that is part of the web basically benefited him. In my opinion, I believe he is living his dream, doing work that is fun to him, and is happy with how everything is panned out.

It first starts with his cracking of ‘enigma’, which was an enciphering machine, used by the Germans to secretly send messages with a security blanket over it. Online Shopping

We had to present a topic we were interested in one of my classes, Living In a Virtual World. My group chose to research drones and everything about them. Every topic that was being presented were all interesting, from cyber crime, to Artificial Intelligence. But one of the ones that I am choosing to write about is Online Shopping, one of the other topics that a group presented. Online shopping is starting to become way more common than anyone thought it would be. It brings in a different experience from driving to the store, grabbing an item, and then lining up to get ringed up at a register by a cashier. The similarities between regular shopping and online shopping is that there is a cart of some sorts that carries your items. At a store, there is a shopping cart to put your items in. Blog One

When I chose my courses for my first quarter, I chose to be in this class called 'Living In a Virtual' because I needed an elective credit. But I did not just choose this just because it was an elective. I chose this because I wanted to learn about the virtual world. The course name attracted me, all the other courses seemed interesting, but not attractive enough for me to sign up for them. As a kid, I always had thoughts about how does technology work with other sets technology. I am not the biggest expert of social media or video games, but I am also the person with the most knowledge about social media and technology in my family. So I pretty much use it well enough where I want to learn about the internet, the history computers, the communications with other technology, and how technology has changed over the years.
