Dotbommmmb

Technology was heavily invested into. It all started in the dotcom to dotbomb time frame. There were different companies that were associated with technology. In 1993, the beginning of all of this, the World Wide Web was 3 years old. In 1994, there were several companies such as Free Range Media, Dealer Net, SPRY Inc. Cole and Weber; a marketing company. There also Robotic Arms, a web browser called Mosaic.
Then the boom started in 1995. Netscape, ran by Jim Clarke and Marc Anderson goes public. It also became one of the most important companies. MCi’s Gramercy press is advertised. The book; How to Publish on the Internet is published. Bruce Johnson and Rob Glaser visit Cole and Weber, which then came Real Audio Launcher. There also came in the ‘The NFL on the Web’, the chat before the spat. It is basically two players from the NFL, talking beef before their matches. Freezone, funded by Spry had 450,000 registered users. Now, what do these companies represent? They are represented as dinosaurs because these tech companies fail to adapt, probably because technology is always changing.
In 1998, changes came into the industry. AOL buys CompuServe. Infospace goes public, and then Burnrate goes public. Heading into the Insanity of 1999, Broadcast.com is acquired by yahoo for the cost of 5.7 Million and then the Internet Bubble is released. Then everything started to implode in 2000. Marchfirst and Pets.com goes bust. There was dot.com advertising and infospace started being worth more the Boeing. Continuing in 2001, Exodus communications and Luminant Worldwide declares bankruptcy, Dr.Koop goes bust. Freezone closes their virtual doors. All of this happened due to the type of investments made into the technology, which ended up failing in the long run.
